Blogger Recognition Award

I was nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by one of my favorite bloggers, #LoveBooks. Thank you so much! I always love reading what you post.
This award was created by Edge of Night.
So, for this award you have to share the story of how and why you started blogging, share a piece of advice or two for new bloggers, thank who nominated you, link back to the original creator of this award, Edge Of Night, and nominate 15 people.
Without further ado, let’s get started!

   How did my blog start?
For me, I pretty much just woke up one day and was like, “I want to start a blog”. Not to say a lot of thought didn’t go into it, but it was something I just really wanted to do.
I really wanted to do something that would inspire others. I wanted to encourage people. It’s hard in this day and age to make a difference in our day-to-day lives. People are just moving so fast. We get caught up in everything and forget to edify others.
I was looking for a form of social media that would allow me to do that. With Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and so many others; they’re just not a very good format for the kind of stuff I wanted to do. So I decided I wanted to start a blog.
   A piece of advice:
Do this because you love to. If you start running a rat race, then remind yourself why you started doing this. You should blog/write because you love it, not because you feel you “should”, “have to”, or because “it’s just what I do”. Do this because you really, really love it! You will be a better inspiration to others and yourself if you love what you do. This isn’t a job; this is meant to be fun. So don’t stress about it.
