I was tagged by #LoveBooks. I absolutely love that blog so go check it out! Thank you for tagging me! I know I’ve already done a tag with this name, but this is a different tag.
Let’s get started!
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I generally read in bed, on the living room sofa, or outside. I will sometimes pace back and forth when I read.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Generally, I use the receipt from the library or bookstore I got the book from. Sometimes I’ll use an actual bookmark, but if I don’t have one on hand I’ll use whatever is closest.
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?
I hate stopping before the end of the chapter. Occasionally I’ll stop when a new scene/thought comes up. You know how sometimes the book is separated, not only by chapters, but also astrix or something? I’ll stop at those it I have to.
Do you eat or drink while reading?
Sometimes. There are few things better than sitting down with a book and a good snack. But I hate getting the pages dirty, so if I do snack I pick something that won’t make the pages greasy. Also, having coffee or a soda is also really nice.
Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
It depends. I don’t mind listening to music when I read, but I don’t want it up too loud. If I’m studying, though, I love to have music going. It’s just distracting enough to help me focus. TV is too distracting, I think.
One book at a time or several at once?
I used to be a firm believer in only reading one book at a time, but rarely am I able to accomplish that. I just enjoy reading different types of things. Right now I have 3 books going. Twilight: New Moon, Forbidden by Ted Dekker and Tosca Lee, and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
Reading at home or everywhere?
At home. But if I have to sit somewhere and wait for someone I’ll read.
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently. Sometimes, though, I’ll read the dialogue portion out loud. I know…it’s weird. But it’s oddly satisfying. You should try it!
Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
I never skip pages…but I do read ahead if something tragic happens. I always go back to my original place and continue on from there, though. I’ll even read the last page of the book sometimes. I know, I know, I’m horrible.
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I try to keep is as new as possible. Sometimes you can’t help it. Hardbacks I NEVER break. Paperbacks, though, break without effort so…yeah. I never fold the book back on itself.
Do you write in your books?
Yes. If I find a really good quote I’ll underline it and leave the page number on a blank (or mostly blank) page in the front. I’ll make little side annotations in my Bible but not in regular books.
